Hyderabad, October 05: Unlike last time when all services were stopped following the two-day Rail Roko call by the pro-Telangana parties, the South Central Railway would operate its services during the three-day Rail Roko call from October 9.
SCR Assistant General Manager Vijya Mohan on Wednesday stated that the railways were ready to operate trains on October 9-11 in the event of State Government provides proper security.
Talking to media persons after holding discussions with Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi at the Secretariat, he said that railways might operate all the services if adequate is provide to its properties and passengers.
Mohan said that the Chief Secretary has assured to look into issue after discussing with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy.
Admitting that railways have lost huge income due to Rail Rokos, he said that the railways have proposed this new security system considering the interests of commuters and to reduce inconvenience to passengers.
