Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad criticises Ramdev

PTI | 08:04 PM,Apr 18,2011
Dehra Dun, Apr 18 (PTI) Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad today accused Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev of commercialising Ayurveda and selling traditional medicines at much higher prices.

Ramdev has commercialised the Ayurveda and yoga and is selling Ayurveda medicines on much higher prices, parishad spokesman Baba Hathyogi said.

He also alleged that Ramdev was adopting double standards on the issue of ‘swadeshi’. Baba Ramdev talks about ‘swadeshi’ but he himself has installed foreign make machines in his factories, Hathyogi told reporters here.

The verbal duel between Hathyogi and Ramdev had started last month after the former burnt literature published by Patanjali Yogpeeth of the Yogaguru in Haridwar claiming it contained some objectionable remarks about the Hindu religion.

Patanjali Yogpeeth lodged a case with the police for igniting public sentiments by burning its literature, while Baba Hathyogi filed a report that an employee of Ramdev barged into his ashram and threatened to kill him.
