Pilots' stir hits services



Chennai, Apr 28 : Air India today cancelled eight flights including an international service to Singapore as the flash strike by 600 pilots of the airline entered the second day today.

AI sources said here, eight flights, including an international flight to Singapore at 0030 hrs last night and domestic services scheduled for today were cancelled.

The cancelled flights include Indian Airlines and AirIndia flights to Port Blair, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kochi, Bhubaneshwar, Thiruvananthapuram and a special flight to Madurai, all scheduled to operate between 0450 hrs and 1115 hrs.

The pilots, once on Indian Airlines payroll, were demanding pay parity with their AI counterparts.

The Delhi High Court had stayed the flash strike yesterday.
