A Pune-based NGO moved the Delhi high court (HC) on Wednesday demanding removal of73-year-old Anna Hazare from the panel formed to draft the Lokpal Bill.
Hemant Baburao Patil, president of an NGO National Anti-corruption Public Power, in the petition has said that Hazare has been found guilty by a commission headed by retired Supreme Court judge PB Sawant.
The panel was constituted on the direction of the Bombay high court that a detailed enquiry showed Hazare was guilty of indulging in corrupt practices relating to administration of a trust.

Patil alleged Hazare’s NGO Hind Swaraj Trust and many others are involved in illegalities and maladministration in land transactions.

“One of the trust run by Hazare is unregistered till date and has been receiving money illegally in violation and contravention of laws,” he said, adding that several other criminal complaints were also pending against him.
Patil said Hazare’s NGO had received Rs2 crore grant from the Maharashtra government.His crusade and threat to undertake indefinite fast unto death should be seen as damp squib of a threat,” Patil said.
